Report on CanCham’s Knowledge Services Group meeting on 15.5.2019

The CanCham’s Knowledge Services Group meeting took place on Wednesday, May 15 at 15.00 at the Exupery International School, Jaunâ iela 8, Piòíi, Babîtes pagasts and was chaired by Julie O'Donohue, Knowledge Services Group Leader and Principal at Exupery International School, https://exupery.lv/
Summary of discussions:
- Knowledge Services Group concept has been defined as using our unique expertise and experience to support the CanCham's goal of connecting businesses
- The main target/client groups to be approached that could benefit from the group’s services include:
- Canadian military and embassy personnel in Latvia,
- Canadian businesses seeking to do business in or through Latvia,
- large, foreign owned companies, with an emphasis on those with foreigners living in Latvia
- foreign embassies in Latvia.
- Meeting with Procurement Officer for Canadian Armed Forces tentatively set for June 17, 12:00 at Radisson Blu Daugava. To be confirmed by Ed Kalvins
- "Business After Hours" event tentatively set for April 2020 at Exupery International School. To be confirmed by Julie O'Donohue
- Each member should try to make a list of 10 Foreign Owned Businesses that they know of in Latvia and who could be approached to attend events and cooperate in the future
- the development of regular (monthly), informal events that could attract Canadian participation

- June 17, 14:00 at the Radisson Daugava (after the Procurement meeting event)
- July 17, time TBD at Ed Kalvins' Office
- August 17, time TBD at Baltic Beach Hotel (to be confirmed by Ed Kalvins)
- We will follow the pattern of monthly meetings thereafter on the 17th of every month. Times and locations TBD
