Invitation to the Canadian Thanksgiving Day Dinner

Dear CanCham Members and Friends,
 

It is indeed with great pleasure that we invite you to our annual 


Thanksgiving Dinner featuring:

Our guest speaker, Mr Juris Audariòð, the former Latvian Ambassador to Canada just recently returned from Canada, will share his impressions of Canada and perhaps provide us with some insight about this great country
 
and
 
our chef will be Latvian-Canadian Austris Siliòð whose culinary art experiences have been influenced  by growing up in Latvian in the family, living in both Ontario and Quebec, as well as working with different nationality chefs, including Canadian Indians. Austris moved permanently to Latvia in 2014 and will provide his personal attention to providing a truly Canadian experience.

The menu includes:

Festive turkey
+whole, deboned roaasted turkey +pumpkin/sage stuffing +mapple syrup glaze whole turkey carved tableside by our Chef
Roasted autumn vegetables
+carrots +parsnips +rutabaga +turnips +leeks +hazelnuts +arrugula
Traditional Québec “tourtière” meat pie
+minced beef & pork +onions +garlic +potatoes +herbs & spices
Mashed potatoes
+roasted garlic +parsley +sour cream +butter +bacon
Demi-glace
Cranberry-chilli chutney
Traditional pumpkin pie with whipped cream
+pumpkin purée +milk +eggs +cinnamon +cloves +cardamom nutmeg +whipped cream
Includes welcome drink.  Cash bar available.

Deadline for reservations is Thursday, October 6th, 2016 at 17:00. Seating capacity is limited. We encourage early registration. Advance payment is required and your place in the event will be confirmed when we have received payment. Preference will be given to paid guests. Unpaid registrations may be cancelled should the venue be fully booked. (CanCham reserves the right to charge registered persons who do not cancel their reservations by Thursday, October 6th, 2016 at 17:00.)
