Report on the October Seed Forum in Riga (for start-ups)

Seed Forum Riga Investor conference is a match-making event for financial investors (private investors and venture capital funds) and perspective growth companies from Latvia and neighbouring countries, who have participated in Seed Forum Process, have been educated, trained and deemed suitable subsequent to a selection process by the Seed Forum Selection Panel and now - are looking for financial investors to develop further their business concepts.

The Seed Forum Riga Investor conference on Wednesday the 25th of October 2017 was organised in close cooperation with Latvian Business Angels Network (LATBAN) and Estonian Embassy in Riga, and hosted in the conference hall of ALTUM, Doma laukums 4, 1st floor, Riga.

Ed Kalvins participates in and supports Seed Forum activities both as the Chairman of the CanCham and as the President and CEO of Technical Partners (http://tpriga.lv/) with the intention of connecting start-ups to strategic partners, investors and/or clients, with a particular emphasis on Canada, in order to use the advantages that CETA will bring small and medium businesses. Seed Forum presenters are screened for the merit of their projects and their potential interest internationally. Interested parties are then informed about these projects.

The morning program commences at 9.30 a.m. with company power-pitches and keynote speakers, followed by company presentations, and a networking lunch at 11.30 a.m. Participants are given the opportunity to hold personal meetings in the afternoon.

Following the Seed Forum Investor conference, between 6.00-8.00 p.m. the same evening, participants were invited to an evening reception hosted by the Ambassador of Estonia to Latvia, HE Tõnis Nirk, in the Estonian Embassy in Riga.
