Dear CanCham Members and Friends,

The CanCham invites you to participate in the CanCham Business Development Forum – Mobilization, with Artis Pabriks.

We need to mobilize to take advantage of CETA, deal with tax changes and use the upcoming municipal elections to our advantage.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and European leaders signed the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement known as CETA on 30.10.2016. CETA now goes to final ratification. Canadian troops will be arriving in Latvia in April, 2017.

Is Latvia ready for CETA and the NATO troop deployment, and the business opportunities it presents?

Artis Pabriks, the European Parliament Member appointed as the EP's chief rapporteur on CETA joins us to update the CanCham on CETA, and looks at Latvia’s political and economic system as the CanCham prepares for these major upcoming events.

Presentations:

  • Vides eksperti, Ivars Pavasars
  • CanCham: Work group introductions – Inta Cinite (Business Support), Eriks Seminovs (Export), Karina Krivorota (Tourism & Recreation), Kintija Barloti (Medical Tourism), Jan Welitz (Advertising and Promotion), Ed Kalvins (Construction Related Services). The CanCham will present the status of its work groups which are preparing its members to reach out to new clients and new opportunities
