The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Latvia (CanCham) promotes the development of strategic partnerships between commercial entities.
What is meant by the term “strategic partnership” in the CanCham context?
A strategic partnership is a mutually beneficial commercial arrangement between two parties.
Why are we promoting strategic partnerships?
One of the main CanCham objectives is to facilitate Canadian business development in Latvia by supporting the sale of goods and services through reliable partners in Latvia in cooperation with the Canadian Trade Commissioner Services of the Embassy of Canada to Latvia. This also provides Latvian companies the same opportunities with Canadians and Canada.
What are the main features of a strategic partnership between Canadian and Latvian companies?
For Canadians, Latvian companies
- will know local regulations and culture,
- may have sales organizations in Latvia and other Northern European and EU countries.
For Latvians, Canadian companies
- will know local regulations and culture,
- may have sales organizations in Canada and other western countries.
Both may be in a position to offer the other services or products not possessed by the other thereby complementing each other’s range of services or products offered, as well as increasing market size.
The Role of the CanCham in establishing strategic partnerships
The CanCham serves its members by identifying and recommending potential partners from its network of contacts.
Can a member have more than one strategic partner?
Yes, depending in arrangements with previous partners and the fields of activity each is engaged in.
