26.02.05 SAFE Conference - Hungary
05.02.2026
CanCham Latvia is a member of the CanCham’s of Europe and as such, supports the efforts of member chambers.
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hungary is organizing a high-level business and policy conference, SAFE: Security Action for Europe – Industrial Readiness and Transatlantic Partnerships, to be held in Budapest on 12-13 May 2026.
To consider sponsorship, follow this link.
The conference will bring together European and Canadian defence-industry leaders, senior policymakers and national armaments directors. The purpose is to examine how Europe can move beyond short term rearmament and instead build a resilient, scalable, and sustainable defence capability over the longer term. The discussions are deliberately focused on industrial and operational realities, including manufacturing capacity, supply chain resilience, procurement reform, interoperability, and the practical implementation of SAFE in a manner complementary to NATO — and is, of course, a Canadian initiative to bring the conversation to the forefront.
The conference will be of particular interest to companies active in, or considering engagement in, the European defence and security market, including those seeking new partnerships, insights into EU defence initiatives, and high‑level networking opportunities.
High level diplomacy confirmations: Honourable John Hannaford, Personal Representative of the Canadian Prime Minister to the European Union, Mr. Colin Barker, Defence Exports Executive Director, Global Affairs Canada and Dr. Tomasz Husak from European Commission.
CanCham Lativa’s cooperation possibilities include:
- Nominate panelists from our membership (defence companies) for conference panels.
- Introduce potential sponsors who would benefit from brand exposure to this elite audience (sponsorship options include panel participation, exhibition opportunities, and logo placement).
- Sponsors coming via our Chamber can receive a tailored sponsorship package.
