Dear CanCham and LBA Members and Friends,

You are invited to participate in the third seminar in our “Making the Connection” series. This session will focus on infrastructure and construction-related services and will feature Defence Construction Canada (DCC), which is leading an ambitious Canadian military and infrastructure investment program in support of Task Force Latvia (TFL). DCC is a Crown corporation of the Government of Canada that delivers infrastructure and environmental projects for the defence of Canada.

This seminar is organised in collaboration with the Latvian Construction Association (LBA).

With this seminar, we intend to:

  • provide information on procurement process for infrastructure and construction-related service,
  • identify DCC’s immediate and longer-term procurement requirements,
  • review how to apply to the Vetted Vendor list of DCC, including security requirements,
  • share best practices to be successful on bidding for DCC tenders,
  • provide time for participants to speak directly with DCC representatives to develop personal contacts,

The seminar will include presentations from DCC officials and will focus on DCC-issued tenders for infrastructure projects and construction related services.

Participants will have an opportunity to briefly introduce themselves and their organizations. This will help DCC representatives to identify potential contractors and suppliers whose services may be required.

Canada has made a crucial commitment to Latvia’s security by renewing the mandate of Operation REASSURANCE until 2029. This operation is currently the Canadian Armed Forces’ (CAF) largest overseas military deployment, through which the CAF contributes to NATO deterrence and defence measures in Central and Eastern Europe. Under this mission, Canada is the Framework Nation for the NATO multinational brigade in Latvia.

Task Force Latvia (TFL) is the National Command Element that supports the Canadian contribution to NATO in Latvia. This includes investment in military infrastructure and coordination of the requirements needed to deliver this effort through local procurement.

We hope this seminar will help all participants develop useful contacts and identify concrete opportunities for cooperation.
